Basement Hopper Windows in Bethel
Rusted steel basement windows are the norm on older Bethel homes off SR-125, and 45106's clay soil keeps those below-grade openings damp year round. Our bottom-hinged hopper windows tilt in to vent that musty air and seal tight against ground water and drafts. Call (513) 657-2471.

Bethel
Basement Hopper Windows for Bethel homes
Bethel's 45106 has a mix of century farmhouses and post-war ranches, and most of them still run the original steel casement or crank hopper down in the basement. Out here the water table sits high near the East Fork tributaries, so those old units rust at the frame and let ground moisture wick straight into the block. A leaky basement window is usually the first thing that makes the whole lower level smell damp.
We replace those with a custom-fit hopper that's bottom-hinged and tilts inward, so you can crack it to vent stale basement air and reach both sides of the glass from a step stool. The frame is fusion-welded, multi-chamber vinyl built for damp masonry walls, and it won't rot or rust the way steel and wood do. Triple-pane Low-E glass with argon fill and a multi-point lock seal it against drafts, water, and the field mice that come with rural lots.
Basement Windows
Built Tough for Below Grade
A hopper is essentially an awning flipped upside down — it hinges at the bottom and opens inward from the top. That makes it ideal for basements, where it vents moist air, cleans easily from inside, and seals tight against drafts and pests.
Want the bigger picture? Pair it with replacement windows or a new entry door, and ask about rolling it into one 0%-for-24-months project. For efficiency ratings, the Energy Star program is a good reference.

Common questions
Basement Hopper Windows FAQs
My Bethel basement floods a little after heavy rain. Will a new hopper window help?
A properly sealed hopper won't stop water coming up through the floor, but it will stop the seepage that runs in around a rusted-out old frame, which is a common source on 45106 homes. We custom-fit the vinyl unit to your block opening and set it with a multi-point lock and weatherstrip so ground water can't work its way past the sash. If the opening needs a well or drainage tie-in, we'll flag it during the measure.
What is a hopper window?
A window hinged at the bottom that tilts inward at the top to open. It’s the standard style for basement and other small below-grade openings.
Do hopper windows keep water out?
When closed they seal tight against the frame. We also flash the opening properly so wind-driven rain and ground moisture stay outside.
Can hopper windows be an egress exit?
Standard hoppers are usually too small for egress. If you need a code-compliant basement egress window, we can spec one — just ask at the consultation.
