Can casements match the historic divided-light look on an OTR facade?
They can. We carry a range of grid patterns that lay over the glass to recreate the original divided-light appearance, so the window reads as period-appropriate from the street. Underneath you get modern triple-pane glass and a tight modern seal, which the old sashes never offered.
Are casement windows better than double-hung?
Neither is “better” — they’re different. Casements seal tighter and give a clearer view; double-hungs offer a classic look and tilt-in cleaning. Many homes use both, matched to each room.
Are casement windows good for kitchens?
They’re a favorite over the sink because the crank operates easily even when you can’t reach across the counter, and the wide opening pulls air through.
Do casements come with screens?
