My older Elsmere home has an odd-sized entry. Can you still fit sidelights?
Yes. Older homes along the Dixie corridor rarely have a standard opening, so we build the sidelights and frame to the space you actually have. That involves some framing on either side of the door to make room for the panels. You end up with a square, tight entry that looks like it was always meant to have the glass.
Can I add sidelights to my existing door?
Often yes, if there’s room in the opening — it involves some framing, which we assess at the consultation. Sidelights are also easy to include when replacing the entry door.
Will sidelights hurt my privacy or security?
