Those original entries came with a solid door and a dim hall behind it, and the look reads dated next to the greenery out front. Will sidelights update the dated entry on our 1970s Landen home?
They do a lot for it. Swapping a closed, solid entry for a door flanked by glass sidelights is one of the quickest ways to modernize a 70s or 80s facade. The foyer gets brighter and the front of the house looks larger and more current from the street.
Can I add sidelights to my existing door?
Often yes, if there’s room in the opening — it involves some framing, which we assess at the consultation. Sidelights are also easy to include when replacing the entry door.
Will sidelights hurt my privacy or security?
Not with the right glass. Privacy and obscured options block the view, and laminated or reinforced glass keeps security strong while still letting light in.
