Lower Price Hill

Entry Doors for Lower Price Hill homes

Lower Price Hill sits at the foot of the hill in the Mill Creek valley, ZIP 45204, holding one of Cincinnati's most intact runs of 19th-century Italianate brick rowhouses. Those mid-1800s entries were built by hand, and after 150 years the doors sag, the jambs lean, and the original hardware barely holds. A rowhouse front door is right on the sidewalk, so a worn one reads instantly, and a loose one is a security gap on a busy block.

Bulldog fits new doors to these historic openings, which are almost never square, and keeps the Italianate proportions and detailing intact. We use fiberglass or solid wood, add a multi-point lock, and set a weather-seal tight against valley damp. The trim, the transom look, the panel style, all matched to the era. Our own crews do the work, careful around old brick.

Common questions

Entry Doors FAQs

Can you put a modern secure door on my Lower Price Hill Italianate rowhouse without ruining the historic look?

Yes. We fit fiberglass or wood doors that carry the Italianate panel and trim proportions, then add a hidden multi-point lock. From the sidewalk it reads period-correct. Up close, it seals tight and locks like a modern door.

Fiberglass, steel, or wood — which entry door is best?

Fiberglass gives the richest wood look with the least maintenance and great insulation; steel is the toughest and most affordable; wood offers timeless natural beauty. We help you pick based on your priorities.

Will a new entry door help my energy bills?

Yes if you’re replacing an old, drafty door. Every door we install has an insulated foam core, adjustable threshold, and weather-stripping for a tight seal.

Can I add sidelights, a transom, or glass to my door?

Absolutely — sidelights, transoms, and decorative or privacy glass inserts are popular options we’ll show you at the free consultation.

Is the door and the installation warrantied?

Yes — a lifetime warranty covers both the door and the installation, and our own factory-trained crews handle the install.
