Sliding Windows FAQs
My old aluminum slider in Dent barely moves. Is that fixable with a replacement?
Usually the track and rollers are shot rather than the opening itself, so a new slider drops right in. Modern low-friction tracks and a vinyl frame move far easier than the old aluminum and won't corrode. We measure the existing opening so the new sash fits clean.
Are sliding windows energy efficient?
With triple-pane Low-E glass and quality weatherstripping, yes. The sash still seals against the frame; ours are built for Tri-State temperature swings.
Where do sliding windows work best?
Wide, shorter openings — above counters, in basements, bedrooms, and along the back of the house where you want an easy, low-profile window.
Are they easy to clean?
