My White Oak ranch has old aluminum sliders. Can they be replaced with the same style?
Yes, and most homeowners here do exactly that. A new vinyl slider keeps the horizontal look the ranch was designed around while moving far easier than the corroded aluminum. The fusion-welded frame and triple-pane glass also cut the drafts the old ones let through.
Are sliding windows energy efficient?
With triple-pane Low-E glass and quality weatherstripping, yes. The sash still seals against the frame; ours are built for Tri-State temperature swings.
