The West End in 45203 holds some of the oldest brick rows in the city, Italianate and Greek Revival that came through the urban-renewal years, and the front elevations still show segmental and round-arched window tops with transoms over the doors. Owners restoring these places keep running into the same problem: the shaped openings can't be filled with anything off a shelf, and the original sash is often rotted or long gone. We've pulled out plywood infill and mismatched flat units that made a proud old row house look neglected. The arch is what ties the block together, and losing it flattens the whole facade.
We template each shaped top off your actual brick opening and build a unit that follows the original curve, with grid layouts to match the period. Triple-pane Low-E glass with argon fill sits in a welded multi-chamber vinyl frame, so the opening finally seals and the street noise drops. We can. Even with the original sash missing, we template the opening itself and build a new unit to that arch, matching grids to what the block would have had. You get the historic top line back with a modern triple-pane seal.
Can you match my existing arched windows?
In most cases, yes. We template the opening and build a shaped unit to match the radius and proportions of what’s there.
